We got to test these wheel out around the mean streets of Boston, and they're quite unlike any wheel we've ever tried.
For their designed purpose, they are excellent - Cali Cruisers excel in hard carving, pushing, pumping, and bombing around cars down long stretches of incline.
Sliding on them is better for small checks as you're rounding a tight corner, and then promptly hooking back up. Fresh out of the box, they are fairly grippy and hold surprising lines.
I also got to take a few runs down a faster road, and discovered a nifty second purpose- Cruisers work quite well for navigating high-intensity roads you're unfamiliar with. The roll speed isn't excessive and the slide is not too much or too little. I felt comfortable bombing new roads and sliding on new pavement.
Overall they're worth the low price simply because everyone needs a cruiser setup for having fun around town. But don't forget them when you're going out to the mountains, either.

Remember's Cali Cruiser's have all of the things you associated with California. Chill vibes, beach cruising, and good times. These wheels are stone ground, so throw a skid or two as you're mobbing down the beach path. The 78a formula gives you all the grip you need to nail those hairpin corners of the city.
