Straight from the wood press, this deck is made for art or your own graphics. It is unsealed, raw, so you can apply your own art straight away, no preparation or sanding required.
Board made from 7 plies of hard rock North American Maple. Excellent quality.
This is not a raw deck, which means it is unvarnished. Do not skate this deck without a varnish, it will deteriorate quickly if it gets wet.
Notes on using deck for DIY graphic
You can create your own graphics immediately, vanish and go skate it. However if you want a total pro finish, this is what you have to do.
First seal the deck with sanding sealer, let dry for 24 hours. One coat should be enough, if you want two coats then sand back with 220 grit and reapply. This will give you a super smooth surface. Now you need a primer coat. This is the base you are going to put your art/graphic on. Choose an acrylic one. If you are doing a full dip style graphic then spray paint the whole deck top and bottom. If the graphic is only going on the board, then masking tape out the edges (rails) for a more pro finish. Wait 24 hours after primer. Now you are ready to do your art. Use acrylic paints, they dry faster. Once art is down you want to apply a lacquer clear coat to protect the art. Once clear coat is on, let it sit for a few weeks to harden, that is the annoying part because you want to just set it up and rip. However you get a better deck if you wait until that clear coat is rock hard.
When it is done, send us a picture, we love to see the creations skaters make.
