Brand new 2019-2020 model, in stock now
Who is SKC? He is the artist Spencer Keeton Cunningham who did the graphic on this deck. Spencer is an artist, filmmaker, activist and life long passionate skateboarder.
He draws inspiration from his Native American and Pacific Northwest roots, using his art as a platform to address both environmental and social issues.
From the sound of his video, he had more than just an art input, he designed the deck.
It has a great shape, based on a classic double kick skateboard, suits Spencers street skating style. You dont have to skate banks and tre flip car parks to enjoy this board. It makes a great commuter and mini cruiser. Same dimensions as a Landyachtz Dinghy (28 x8).
Volcom did an interview with Spencer, and this is what he said about skating and his art:
What was your first introduction to art?
"To be honest, I’m not sure. I guess I’ve been doing this my while life. I’ve been exhibiting professionally in museums and galleries for 15 years. I moved to SF in 2004 and lived there for over a decade creating art. I must say that maybe the origins of it all were from skateboarding. The two activities feel like the same thing to me, really: skateboarding and painting. Using your muscles to move things around, being creative. "
