This was the first deck that Rayne made. I don't remember the 2004 version, but I do remember the 2008 model. I still have one! In those early days, the Forge was always a limited edition release, and as such highly sort after. That version was 46 inches long! New version is smaller but still limited in numbers.
Rayne has prototype and developed a new version. The shape is still there, still made with a fiberglass and bamboo. What is new is the size, it is now 40 inches. It now boasts some offset camber. Offset camber is when the concave rises instead of like a dish. It creates a point to compress with weight, to make the board subtle flex and give and return energy. Helps with pumping, and steering. It is an unusual concept to explain, but trust me when I say it is awesome, and something that will make you love this board. This board also excels at carving around and pumping on the flat. The construction is light weight, you get this beautiful flex that returns energy when you pump the board, there are twin kicks to get over anything in your way like gutters and dachshunds.
The only problem with this board is stopping all your friends skating it!
Recommended set up would be Paris 180 and a 70mm wheel
