Why is this a favourite longbaord and sells out every year?
Aggressive concave to lock your feet in.
Beefy nose and tail for getting tight.
Big wheel wells for massive wheels or super janky loose.
The big feature is the concave and the amazing bending of wood Rayne has achieved. Rayne calls the main concave “4D” cups or Canadian bacon-cave. This image should give you the general idea:
The concave is designed to provide as much contact from your foot to the board as possible. The concave in the back fits with the shape of your foot allowing your toes and ball of the foot to push sideways pressure into the board. In the front, the concave allows the foot to be cradled similar to having rocker. Depending where and at what angle the front foot is positioned a small alteration and the rider can choose to have more or less leverage. The steepness of the front most wheel flares removes the need for a foot-stop providing confidence for back side slides eliminating the worry of the front foot slipping and keeps the foot locked from sliding off the nose of the board.
Truly is an amazing deck.
