SHIPPING IN AUSTRALIA

GENERAL INFO
Our preferred shipping method is Australia Post Parcel.
With Australia Post, if they can not deliver or safely leave the parcel, it is taken to the nearest Post Office for you to collect at your convenience. Australia Post are phasing out cards, so please check your tracking, you might not be notified it is available for collection not delivery.
We use both Express Post and standard parcel shipping. These are both Australia Post services. Express is overnight and Parcel is 3 days. There is some variance, Parcel Post to a Sydney address can be 2 days and to Western Australia it can be 5 days.
Orders over $99 get free shipping. If we will usually send it via Parcel Post, there is an option to send Express Post (paid) if the items are under 3kg.
Decks and completes and large orders are shipped via Parcel Post. A longboard is a big object to ship around the country. It is at the very limit of what Australia Post allows. Hopkin Skate has a special allowance to ship oversized parcels. Due to their size, there are less scans as the parcel travels through the Australia Post network. This is because the boxes are usually not placed on the rollers, and so do not go through the scanners that register where the parcel is. This is reflected on the Australia Post tracking website, sometimes the parcel looks like it is stuck at a location, when in fact it is traveling towards you, it has just has not been scanned.
Parcels sent to Brisbane and Melbourne and the major cities in between, usually receive their parcel within 3 to 5 days. It can be quicker, we have had two day deliveries to Brisbane and overnight deliveries to Newcastle and Wollongong. These are big parcels, and we ask for you be patient, we know you want to skate ASAP, we want to get it to you ASAP.
If you are in Western Australia and Northern Territory, parcels can take up to 7 days. These parcels are too big to travel via aircraft, all our longboards travel via road.
NOTIFICATIONS
When we ship your order you will get notified by our system and also Australia Post. It is important you give us your real email or the one you check most, because that is where we send the notifications.
Australia Post notifications are not sent until the order in their network. Parcels get picked up at our office between 4:30pm and 5:30pm. Australia Post will send out emails about the shipment soon after that time.
If you do not get any notifications, please send us an email, we usually respond same day about shipment enquiries.
COSTS
Orders over $99 get free shipping. If we can send it Express (under 2kg) we will.
Orders under $99 have two options at checkout: Express is $14.99 and Parcel Post is $9.99.
INSURANCE
Hopkin Skate insures all parcels through our business insurance policy. We do not use the Australia Post insurance. If there is a lost parcel or you have not received your order we use the Australia Post investigative service. If they can not find the shipment, we will replace the item via our business insurance.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
If you have some special instructions, type them into the area called "Special Instructions for Hopkin crew". Yes we read them, and anything you type in there about your delivery will will put on the Australia Post shipping label so the driver reads and knows what's up.
URGENT DELIVERIES - or time specific deliveries
This usually comes up for customers organising presents for birthdays.
If you are ordering with 10 to 14 days before the birthday, you will get or order no problem, BUT it is best to tell us when you need the order by, or when the birthday is. You can do this by typing in a message in the "Special instructions" box at checkout.
If you need a delivery within 7 days, please let us know the date you need the delivery. Small items get shipped express post and will arrive easily, but larger longboards will take longer and we will make sure it gets there on time.
If you need a longboard delivered within a few days, it is best to call us or contact us by email. If we can not delivery, we can recommend a local shop that you make be able to collect a longboard in time. It is not always about us selling you something, we are happy to help with recommendations to save you time and a bit of stress.
